Herkimer, NY—Marian Anderson String Quartet will perform Friday, March 26 at Herkimer County Community College. The concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. in the Sarkus-Busch Theater located in the Robert McLaughlin College Center. The concert is offered through The Robert H. Wood Great Artists Series.
The Marian Anderson String Quartet’s artistic endeavors have brought them to New York’s Alice Tully Hall, the Corcoran Gallery, the Library of Congress, the Cleveland Institute of Music, Kilbourn Hall, The University of Southern California and the Chateau Cantanac-Brown in Bordeaux, France. The Quartet’s distinguished history includes performances through the Da Camera Society, the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. In 1993, the Marian Anderson String Quartet performed at Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center as part of the 52nd presidential inaugural celebration. The Robert H. Wood Great Artists Series is the result of a generous endowment made by the late Robert H. Wood, a long-time resident of Ilion, NY. The Robert H. Wood Great Artists Series sponsors at least two classical music performances annually to allow residents of all ages to enjoy high-caliber music and artists.
Tickets are $10 each, with complimentary tickets available to students of Herkimer County high schools and Herkimer County Community College. Sales are on a first-come, first served basis.
