State Police Investigate Fatal Snowmobile Accident in Herkimer County
(Herkimer, NY) At approximately 2:10pm Jan. 10, State Police in Herkimer responded to a fatal snowmobile accident in the Town of Herkimer.
The investigation revealed that 36 year-old, Kevin G. Gullis, of 201 East German St. Herkimer, was southbound on east Herkimer snow riders trail #43, off 597 Shells Bush Road, operating a 2001 Arctic Cat when he failed to negotiate a curve in the trail. Gullis went off the trail and struck the hitch of a hay wagon causing him to be ejected.
Gullis was pronounced dead at the scene by Herkimer County Coroner’s Office and taken to Little Falls Hospital.
The investigation is continuing at this time.
