Poet Joan Murray to Perform

Herkimer, NY- National Poetry Series winner Joan Murray, also a writer, editor and playwright, will perform at Herkimer County Community College Thursday, March 4 at 7pm in Alumni Hall of the McLaughlin College Center.

Murray is a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship winner, a Wesleyan New Poets Series winner, and winner of Poetry Society of America’s Gordon Barber Award. “Joan Murray is that rare poet who is really interested in the world…Her poetry is skilled, compassionate, wry and passionate,” said Robert Bly. The Harvard Review wrote “One of those few poets whose work remains accessible to both the scholar of poetry and the casual reader.”

This event is funded in part by Poets & Writers, Inc. with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency.

Murray’s performance is open to the public free of charge.
