Herkimer Basketball Player Named Male Athlete of the Week

(Herkimer, NY) Herkimer County Community College basketball player Akeem Ellis (Brooklyn, NY) was named Region III Male Athlete of the Week last week by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Over the course of a four game week, Ellis averaged 15.5 points per game, 11.7 rebounds per game and seven assists per game. He recorded a triple double in HCCC’s win over Corning Community College, with 11 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. The Generals are currently 6-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
