Herkimer, NY—HCTV 99 News will air two special videos this Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11. HCCC President Ann Marie Murray was recently filmed interviewing Assemblyman Marc Butler and Anthony D’Arpino, a local World War II veteran. This short, introductory interview will air approximately five minutes before the feature videos begin.
“Our Vets, Their Stories” runs for approximately one hour and will be shown at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The video was primarily filmed at HCCC’s studio and was narrated on location by WKTV’s Bill Worden. The video was the recipient of a 2004 Telly Award, which recognizes films and video productions.
“This is their Time” runs for approximately 40 minutes and will be shown at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. It was filmed at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. by HCCC Interim Director of Radio/TV Mark Harris and Associate Professor Mary Ann Carroll. It documents a trip made by Herkimer County veterans to Washington D.C. The video won numerous accolades, including a Telly Award, a Videographer Award and a MarCom Creative Award Honorable Mention.
Both videos were produced by Harris and Carroll. HCTV is Herkimer County Community College’s public access television station on Time Warner Cable Channel 99.
