HCCC Women’s Soccer Players and Coach Earn Honors

(Herkimer, NY) Herkimer County Community College women’s soccer players were recently honored by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Senior Amber Swanston (Burke, NY) was named first-team NJCAA All-American. Swanston was also named to the NSCAA Northeast Regional Team along with senior Maria Scerra (Saratoga, NY) and freshman Ashleigh Tracy (Cobleskill, NY).

Women’s soccer coach Amy Dommer was named NSCAA Northeast Regional Coach of the Year. The women’s soccer team finished the 2009 season with an overall record of 16-5.
