(Herkimer, NY) The Herkimer County Community College women’s softball team showed their appreciation for the local community by teaming up with Catholic Charities and lending a helping hand at the Thanksgiving dinner at the Church of the Annunciation’s Parish Center in Ilion.
Women’s Softball Coach PJ Anadio, formerly an assistant baseball coach, began helping with this annual dinner a few years ago with the men’s team, and wanted to continue the tradition with the women’s softball team. Anadio said, “As a coach, this is one of the special opportunities I get to help our students give back to the community. There were many volunteers in that kitchen that gave up their time to help, and that’s what makes it all happen.”
