Herkimer, NY—Herkimer County Community College will hold a “Back from Haiti” program Thursday, February 11 from 7-8:30pm in the Sarkus-Busch Theater of the McLaughlin College Center. Panelists will include Reverend Chris Wintermute of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls, and HCCC students Melissa Keiper, Little Falls and Nolan Little, Dolgeville. The three were on a missionary trip to Haiti when the earthquake struck. The panel will be moderated by WKTV’s Don Shipman. A 2000 graduate of HCCC, Shipman co-anchors NEWSChannel 2 Daybreak and Sunrise and anchors NEWSChannel 2 at Noon.
The panelists will discuss their trip and life in Haiti both before and after the devastating earthquake. They will share their experiences during the time the earthquake struck. Audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions. American Red Cross representatives will be present to accept donations for the “International Disaster Relief Fund for Haiti.”
The program is open to the public free of charge.
