‘The Horror of Race: HBO’s True Blood’ presentation held Feb. 24

Herkimer, NY—Herkimer County Community College’s Diversity Committee announces a presentation, “The Horror of Race: HBO’s True Blood” by Matthew Powers, English Instructor at HCCC. It will be held on Wednesday, February 24 at 2 p.m. in room 288 in the Robert McLaughlin College Center.

The presentation tackles questions about race and identity in the HBO series True Blood. Powers makes comparisons to our contemporary race relations and ideas by examining blood, blood imagery and the idea of what “true blood” may or may not mean.

This presentation is one in a series of presentations sponsored by the College’s Diversity Committee. It is free and open to the public.

Herkimer, NY— The Herkimer County Community College Board of Trustees Finance, Facilities and Audit Committee will meet on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 5:00 pm in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 295. A special meeting of the Board of Trustees will follow beginning at 6:30 pm in room 295.
