(Ilion, NY) On Thursday afternoon at 2:00PM, United Way Executive Director Phil Hayne will deliver 25 plush new coats to Remington Elementary School in Ilion.
The coats are gifts made possible from generous donors who contributed $100 or more during the first annual local United Way Telethon that aired on October 22.
More than 100 new coats were donated by Herb Philipson’s to benefit area children and to encourage contributions to the 2009 United Way Campaign. Area residents can still make a difference in the life of a child as there are 30 remaining coats that can still be gifted with a donation of $100 or more.
The donation will have a dual positive impact; a child will be helped with a new coat and many other lives in the community will be enhanced with the gift to the United Way campaign.
To make a pledge and gift a coat to a child, the community is invited to go online to unitedwaygu.or, or call 733.4691.
Coats will be delivered to an area child attached with a gift card personalized with the donor’s name.
