(Little Falls, NY) The Mid-York Child Care Coordinating Council, Inc. will host informational sessions during the month of February for those individuals interested in operating a child care business in their home. The sessions will be held on Wed. February 17 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Bridgeport Free Library, Route 8, Bridgeport; on Thurs., February 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Little Falls Public Library, 10 Waverly Place, Little Falls; and on Sat. February 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington Street., Rome.
The sessions familiarize prospective family and group family child care providers with New York State child care regulations and application process, as well as grant opportunities and other resources offered by the Child Care Council.
According to New York State law, individuals who care for more than two children not related to them, outside of the child’s home, for over three hours a day, are required to be state certified to provide care.
Informational sessions are free and open to the public, however, pre-registration is required. To register for an informational session, or for more information, contact the Child Care Council at (315) 223-7850.
