(Poland, NY) The American Heart Association and the Poland Central School District announce a NEW Pre-registration Site and Health Fair for America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk 2010. Both events will take place on Thursday, February 11, 2010.
Pre-Registration for America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk 2010: The school will be the host of a pre-registration site for the Heart Run & Walk event taking place at Utica College on Saturday, March 6th. Registration is from 10am until 7pm. Come form a new team or register for the main event.
Poland Community Health Fair: The school will also host a Health Fair on the same day, in the Classic Gym, from 1pm until 7pm. There will be a variety of local area businesses providing heart healthy information and activities. All are welcomed!
As part of the Health Fair, students in grades K-5, approximately 300 students, will participate in America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk by walking a course at the school in memory of Alyssa Pomichter, a first grader who passed away unexpectedly three years ago due to a heart condition. In the past, Alyssa’s classmates have done the Indoor Walk at Sangertown Square Mall, but they have decided to bring it to their hometown while educating the Poland Community on healthy lifestyles.
Register Now! Form a Team, Raise Funds and Save Lives!
America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk Weekend’s fundraising goal is $1,202,600. A minimum amount of $25 in pledges for participants 18 years and older is required at registration.
